Friday Night Proposal.

This is an night of entertainment that takes place in the St James the less church in Pimlico London.
First of it a amazing polychromatic Victorian Gothic church built by G.E. Street in 1859. This church is full of wonders like the mosaic by G.F Watts. This is still a full working church serving it community.

The act that are on at Friday Night Proposal are quite ecliptic. It is mainly music but there has been poets, bards and comedians to just list a few. I stroll round at the begin as guest arrive waiting for each other or having the first glass of wine. I also do a set in the break as well. The stuff I do is all close up I like to wonder around and create magical moments as I go. If someone or a group show interest I will approach to perform more. When I am performing for a group I like to get them involved a do something were they keep a physical item from the trick as well as a emotion experience. The routines I perform I like to keep simple to follow and happen in the spectators hands.

I feel that I bring a little something extra to the evening. I start the spectators journey from busy week life to the delightful event that will unfold in the evening by giving a little puzzlement and wonder.

So far so what

This is just a quick list of some of the things I have done. I hope this show I have a varied ability able to work any were. Also part of my work as a science communicator I am use to performing to a wide age group and audiences up to 150-200. I am an strong performer and happy in most situations.

The magical things I have done so far. About 2 years ago I started going out on the streets and doing some busking. I like working with my diabolos to draw attention then break out in small routines of magic. I Have taken out cups and balls but carrying a table is a pain. I like to be more mobile moving around with a shoulder bag or pockets. I much prefer working with smaller groups and getting to know them as I perform.

In the past year I have done a few small festivals and really enjoyed them. Here I found that setting up and area with the table set for cups and balls building up a crowd and doing a small show for 40-50 people. Also walking round working out of pockets doing close up for 2 or 3 people or something larger for 10 to 15 people. There is a lot of interaction and silly games with kids at these events. One festival I did which was a family event in the day then at night it become more adult focused. Mainly under one marque and beer tent. As orchestra swapped over I filled the gaps with a bit of walk round.

Obliviously I have done lots of magic a friends and family events. These or more testing things out and finding out what works and what dose not. I've also done Christmas party at work which have gone down quite well.

There is something else I have done called Friday Night Proposal but I will do a separate post on this. So this is so far and so what.
